OPENING PRAYER for STUDENT AWARDS 2022
composed by Bro. Agus Syawal Yudhistira, OP

O Holy Spirit, our Eternal Master and Teacher, who guides us unto all truths and reminds us of all things that Christ, Our Lord, had done and taught.You, who trained and guide our steps to fulfill the Father’s will and makes us pleasing sons and daughters of the Most High.

In the past, you instructed the People of God through the Laws.  Even now, you form the heart of your faithful through the words of the prophets; direct our steps through the teachings of the apostles, and strengthen our arms and legs with virtues and charisms for missions.

Have mercy on us all  and receive our homage and gratitude for the opportunity you grace us this year: gathering all of us together, here at this place, at long last, to celebrate this University Student Awards Day.

If you allow us to celebrate any of our achievements,
remind us, O Holy Spirit, that all of us are forever disciples before you.
For you alone who shines us light yet shrouds us in darkness;
you alone who confuses our utterances yet grants us new tongues;
you alone send and recall Wisdom to us at your bidding;
you alone are able to invest us with unperishable gifts that moths nor rust could decay.

Have mercy on us and immerse us in humility
so that our celebration today be a joyful reminder of your goodness
and not become a snare to our own destruction.

Bless us all gathered here; bless our loved ones;
bless our university, our alma mater;
bless our country; and bless all your faithful;
as we await with joy for the coming of your blessed and glorious Pentecost.

Grant, Lord, our prayer, for you are merciful,
who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified,
now and forever, world without end. Amen.

PRAYER OF ENTRUSTMENT
TO THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY

Holy Mary, Seat of Wisdom,
Docile Disciple of the Holy Spirit,
dearest Mother of Our Lord Jesus Christ, our Mother!
As Jesus entrusted us to you,
so in confidence, we entrust ourselves,
our loved ones,
our university,
our country,
and all of Christ’s faithful
to your care, protection, and intercession.

Keep us safe under your mantle,
aid us with your prayers,
enrich us with your examples,
that we may always be faithful to the Holy Spirit,
following his instruction and enjoying his divine consolation.

Pray for us, Holy Mother of God, our Mother!
Despise not our petitions, but in your mercy hear and answer us. Amen.
