This photo captured the gladness of UST's beloved Professor Emeritus. Dr. Fortunato B. Sevilla III, during the commencement exercise of Asst. Prof. Alan Rodelle M. Salcedo, MSc, who graduated Summa Cum Laude. Though we are all striving for holiness amidst our weaknesses, I cannot but be reminded of the love and support of St. Albert the Great for his illustrious student St. Thomas Aquinas.
Do you know that Dr. Sevilla's Birthday is on the feast day of St. Albert the Great itself (Nov 15)?
I always appreciate Dr. Sevilla who would pass by my office just for us to talk about some strategies to promote St. Albert the Great. Looking forward for another conversation with him and the other professors as well.
ANECDOTE: Class Recitation
Me: According to tradition, St. Andrew, the Protoclete (Πρωτόκλητος), whose feast day we celebrate on November 30, was persecuted on a cross of the form called ‘crux decussata’. What letter in the alphabet depicts that cross?
Student: Ahh…ahhh… Z-shaped cross?
Me: [huh? Paano?]
San Ándres, ipanalangin mo kami!

'PUN'NY ANECDOTE: Dean and Regent
Noong bata pa ako, manghang-mangha ako sa mga scientists kaya gusto kong maging scientist dati.
Noong bata naman si Prof. Rey S. Papa, PhD, Dean of the College of Science, naisip naman n'yang magpari o magsundalo.
Ako naging pari. Sya naging scientist.
'Yung dream n'yang maging sundalo, nadikit lang sa aking apelyido...Padre Coronel (sounds-like pinaghalong pangarap ni Dean).
Pero matindi talaga sa UST College of Science... bakit? Ang regent...pari...ang dean...Papa!
